As we reach our seventh issue, one thing has become increasingly clear through our journey together: the remarkable strength that emerges when a community unites around shared purpose, regardless of the diverse paths that brought us here.

We as the editorial team, passionately believe in the power of community, the bonds that exist beyond blood ties, the friendships we forge and the spirit of togetherness that is created when we come together from all walks of life. By sharing stories that help us understand one another better, our community has shown that unity doesn’t require uniformity.

We share a must-read on cancer in Zimbabwe. Cancer awareness also teaches us about prevention and early detection – knowledge that becomes more powerful when shared within trusted community networks. When
we talk openly about health, we break down barriers and create environments where people feel safe to seek help, ask questions, and support one another through uncertainty.

We also share images of senior school sports teams sharing their powerful message of compassion and awareness. Cancer touches every corner of our

community, crossing all boundaries of age, background,
and circumstance.

We all know someone affected by this, we may have lost someone dear to this. Cancer is a brutal challenge that reminds us of our shared humanity and vulnerability, but also of our collective resilience. Love and loss are two great emotions we all experience as human beings.

Stories of the good being done by organisations such as Island Hospice, the Borradaile Thrift Shop team and the Rotary Club of Marondera remind us that community service is part of our town’s DNA.

Likewise, this issue’s inspiring Local Legend is Donovan Makuzo; his faith and environmental stewardship make us very proud to be part of this amazing community.

Our differences in background only enhance our ability to support, understand, and uplift each other. Together, we are stronger.

Marondera continues to grow, with exciting developments taking shape – most notably, the revival of Health Point Hospital, a much needed
boost for our community.

The past month has also seen thrilling sports action from the Peterhouse Group of Schools, with growing crowds and energy at local social events.
